Frequently Asked Questions

The majority of our patients are on hybrid programs. This simply means we use a mix of in-person sessions and remote follow-up through our custom app.
Traditional PT ends when you leave the clinic, our model goes way beyond.
With us, in-person treatments are high-leverage and used as needed. You’re busy. You don’t need to sit around while someone counts your reps (or leaves you on your own). When you see us, we get a lot done.
Then we use technology to deliver customized programming and keep you accountable. You get the best of in-person AND remote treatment, not a cookie cutter program.

We are out of network with all insurances. This means we work for YOU, not insurance companies. This allows us to completely focus on your needs without wasting time negotiating with the insurance company. It also means a full hour of one-on-one treatment at each visit, and cutting-edge remote follow-up via our custom app. This is just not possible when clinics rely on reimbursement from insurance companies.
Please call us if you have any questions about insurance coverage so we can help you make the best possible decision for your PT care.
-
Some insurances provide reimbursement directly to our patients because they have an out of network benefit. We encourage you to reach out to your insurance company to ask if you have out of network benefits and also to determine what your copay and deductible is. This allows us to help you make the best possible decision for you.
Please contact us with any questions about how to contact your insurance company.

Out-of-network PT means the care we provide is not limited by arbitrary restrictions. You will always work one one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (not aides or assistants) for a full hour and get a completely customized plan of care delivered through our custom app.
We are able to see our patients less often and focus much more on teaching you how to stay healthy long term. Long story short, we are much more effective with your time and money than our in-network counterparts.
We specialize in working with athletes and active people, and we incorporate fitness and wellness principles into all of our sessions because this approach yields the best results.
We focus on being efficient, effective, and patient-centered, not billing your insurance.

Massachusetts is a direct access state for Physical Therapy. That means you do not need a prescription to see us.
Our Doctors of Physical Therapy are orthopedic and movement experts so we encourage you to come see us first instead of wasting time and money seeing a provider who is not trained in these areas.
If we determine you need further testing or a referral, we will provide recommendations to our extensive network of like-minded providers.
-
It is not necessary for most patients to have imaging or other testing done before coming to see us so don’t let this delay your visit.
We will refer to other providers if we believe additional testing is needed, but if having images or other testing done prior to your visit helps you feel more comfortable that is completely fine.
-
During your evaluation, we will complete a thorough history and full examination to determine your current status. We will provide some initial treatment (likely including exercises for you to do at home) and design a plan of care in collaboration with you.
We’ll create a plan of care that works for you and let you know exactly what to expect. We value transparency and collaboration and we want you to feel comfortable every step of the way.
Follow up sessions are also a full hour and usually include manual therapy/hands on work as well as customized mobility and strengthening exercises to get you back in the game fast!
-
We recommend wearing comfortable workout attire, so whatever you usually wear to the gym is great! Depending on the area we are evaluating/working on, you may want to have a short sleeved shirt or shorts.
-
This varies widely between patients. Some patients see us 1x/week, some 1x/month.
We are able to be very effective with your time, so we can see you less often, and get better results.
-
This can also vary widely for each patient.
We will be able to provide a more accurate estimate after your evaluation. We have many patients who work with us long-term on wellness and performance services after their initial injury is treated.
-
Once you make your evaluation appointment, we will send you instructions to set up your account in our patient portal. This will allow you to fill out all of your intake paperwork beforehand and ask any other questions you may have.
We look forward to working with you!
